Produced from Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes, since the juice is allowed a very limited period of contact with the dark skin, it picks up only a pinkish cherry colour – cirici, cirice or cirasce in local dialect, from which it draws its name.
Wine organoleptic features:
Colour | Cherry red, with different degrees of intensity |
Aroma | Pleasing, fine, fruity and intense |
Taste | Dry, smooth, pleasing, delicate with a pleasant almond finish |
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a very distinctive wine and differs from rose’s produced in other parts of Italy in that it is fresh, thanks to its fair level of acidity (typically between 5.5 and 6 g/l), and has good alcohol content ranging between 12 and 13% vol.
The antioxidants typical of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grapes allow this wine to keep its bouquet and colour for a whole year.
